Question by Nikita: new 4 GB Sandisk SD card does not work with Nikon coolpix s3?
i bought a new 4 GB SD card for my nikon coolpix s3. but the cam says “the card can not be used”. put the same card in my lappy it works alright.
what could be the issue? does nikon s3 4gb external memory. (google did not help much.. 
)

oh, and before this i was using kingston 1gb card with the camera.

Below is a link to the online manual for your camera. See page 10.
Your camera only accepts SD cards (1 or 2 gig)
It does not accept SDHC cards (4 gig and up)
Thats your problem. Your computer accepts SDHC but your camera doesnt
Page 82 gets more specific and lists compatible cards and sizes. It may not be entirely accurate though because the cards listed may have been the only ones available back then. To be safe you should follow what page 82 says.
